BRIDPORT STUDENTS ARE AVID READERS!

Students in grades K-3 are beginning a unit on Red Clover books.  They will share and respond to ten chosen picture books between now and March.  In April they will vote, along with many other students across Vermont, for their favorite book.  Students love rereading these books and are excited to find past Red Clover books (with the RED STICKER!) in the library.  Look for that sticker on the books your child brings home and for more information about the Red Clover Book Award check out the link on this page.

Watch this great book trailer for Swirl by Swirl a Red Clover book by Joyce Sidman, illustrated by Beth Krommes.

In grades 4-6, students have been busy all year reading a selection of 30 books chosen for the DCF Book Award, another Vermont state book award for older readers.  Students have been keeping track of the books they have read and are preparing for the annual ACSU district DCF Challenge held in April.  Several students have read more than half the books!  Way to go!  Students who read five or more books will be able to vote for their favorite in April and believe me it is always a hard decision. Again there is a link on this page for more information about the DCF Book Award and some of the books are available to browse on the Shelfari bookshelf.

Feel free to come to the library during school hours to browse these and other books.
